To maintain your Pod operating at its best and within warranty, we suggest the use of the maintenance insert. Before shipping to your home, your Pod was already pre-conditioned with a treatment that includes the maintenance solution, to ensure optimal performance for the next 6 months. There is no need to remove the current insert, adjust it, or add any other liquids other than water into the tank. Within 6 months of installation, you will receive your first delivery of a new maintenance insert and instructions on installing it.
The solution’s active ingredients include benzalkonium chloride to keep the water clean and avoid performance issues.
The maintenance insert is a new feature available only on Pod 4 and Pod 4 Ultra units. Older Pods do not include an interchangeable insert and are not compatible with the new maintenance inserts. Only owners of these models with active Autopilot memberships will receive the maintenance inserts.
If you choose not to swap in your new inserts, your Pod could experience issues if any component degrades over time. This can cause a reduction in performance for temperature regulation and other features.
- Locate the maintenance insert on the Cover’s water cord.
- Press the button to remove your current insert. It is normal to see a few drops of water when removing.
- Remove your new insert from the box and slide the cap off.
- Insert your new insert into the adapter section of your Cover’s water cord.
In the near future, you’ll be able to purchase maintenance inserts in the Member Shop to keep your hardware at peak performance without Autopilot.
